In the first part of this series, I discussed how creating a path to online marketing success requires taking up precise Social Media positions. In this second part, I’ll show you how to reinforce these positions with good, valuable content that is specifically meaningful to your target clientele.
Developing valuable content to reinforce your Social Media positions is a proven power strategy for driving traffic and prospects from your Social Media sites to your blog and, ultimately, into your sales funnel. I stress to my clients the importance of developing this content and, at the same time, making it relevant to their target viewers.
Reinforce Your Social Media Positions… with Valuable Content
You will need to reinforce your Social Media positions by continually executing the action required to shore up those positions. I’ve worked with many clients whose online marketing efforts were stagnating because they thought that simply holding their Social Media positions was sufficient maintenance activity. Reinforcement through consistent monitoring and development, though, is where you really bring your efforts to the next level.
But reinforcement doesn’t just happen. It requires diligent enhancement by adding value-laden content on a continual basis.
You must plot a strategy for effectively reinforcing your Social Media positions.
Determine the sort of content you plan on sharing.
This requires that you first determine your niche, or key interest in what you want to market online.
Then you need to determine what your target market is. Are you looking for other online marketers, or people who want a home-based business or MLM to join. Based on what you are offering, WHO are you looking to connect with to do business?
Reinforce Your Social Media Positions… with Relevant Content
Once you have clearly established WHO comprises your target market, create a client profile. What is your ideal client’s age, sex, interests, and knowledge base with regards to your product or service.
Armed with this profile, you can go about the business of designing the sort of content that will be pertinent to your ideal client/viewer. When your target viewers see that the content you are giving them on Social Media sites like Twitter and You Tube is of value to them, they will be far more likely to want to connect with you on Facebook to pursue a still more meaningful connection.
Facebook has a unique role in the Social Media strategy, and really is in a category of its own. I will take up that issue in a subsequent post, “Make Facebook Your Social Media Marketing Hub”.
Reinforce Your Social Media Positions… by Taking Massive and Consistent Action
The content-maintenance of your positions will reinforce and shore them up to be powerful elements of your online business.
Make a chart of the things you need to do. List the days and times of day you will post tweets. Schedule days of the week that you will add videos to your You Tube channel. Most importantly, outline the nature of the content you wish to share on a weekly basis.
Now that you have a master plan for developing and disseminating your content, do everything possible to stick to the schedule. Remember, the more action you take, the greater… and faster… your results will be.
Now that taken up your Social Media positions, and have established a plan for ongoing reinforcement of those positions, you are ready to unleash some extreme campaigns to put your business on the map and establish you as a force to be reckoned with in the world of cutting edge internet entrepreneurs and online marketers. Your Social Media sites will be the base from which all operations proceed, and your Internet Marketing Success will be measured by how effectively you carry out missions to attract and convert prospects, leads, down-lines and business partners into your marketing funnels. Visit my other posts that detail the first and third parts of this 3-part series designed to propel you to rapid victory in Online Marketing.
I never thought about creating an ideal client profile before related to my social media efforts. So far, everything I have done has been, well, not specifically targeted.
As usual, David, you present a logical and methodical reminder of what it takes to really tap fully into the social media keg and draw out the exact amount of pints needed to satisfy your thirsty crowd. I will work on thinking more thoroughly about my target audience going forward, while I enjoy a cold one or two…

Great job of helping us to understand the importance of creating a system for marketing plans. I did have this down pretty well until I started to see how much needed to be done. Time to hire a VA when there is too much to keep track of right?
As a side note, I know you’ll be fabulous in leading other tribes into exponential growth so I’ll be checking back with you often to see how you’re doing. Thank you, I so appreciate you!

Cool (cold?) analogy there Mary Lou! I’m glad to find someone else that has fun with words. That’s why I like the old film noir.
Where else do you get dialog like that? P.S. Glad I didn’t leave my post in “draft” only

You hit the mark David,
The more we give value to others, the more that flows back to us. It’s a continuous stream of energy that flows to us and through us, if we are open to sharing.

This post has so much great information. I especially like the part of reminding people that you definitely need a master plan and schedule to adhere to. It is so easy to get distracted if you don’t have a plan.

Hi David!
I love your post. It sounds pritty much like a chess game (I mean, a good chess game
Most of people don´t realize that Social Media, if you are serious in a business, its not about planting virtual gardes…
The idea of an “ideal client” is very clever. How to design a strategy without it?
Great post

Good to see you out here Sharon.
You’re right. Planning is essential to our success. But plan revision is just a critical. Remember, “Man Plans, God Laughs”. When there’s a curve in the road, we either turn the wheel, or go head first into a tree. Ouch!
Aloha David, so true social media has a lot of impact, people are constantly on there chatting, playing games or socializing. As for the marketers, we incorporate this is our business to reach out to those who are looking for a business. Thanks for sharing! Lani
