Your Journey To Internet Marketing Success Begins Here

In order to achieve true success in internet marketing… or anything else for that matter… you must first conquer fear. More precisely, you must conquer your fear of embarking on a journey to success.

Everybody will accept success if GIVEN it. But very few will abandon their current lifestyle, philosophy and status quo comforts to CREATE success. Why?

First of all because if might wind up in failure. Did you ever notice that the very first reason people give for NOT EVEN TRYING to succeed is that it will, or might, or could end up in failure. You will never succeed if you are purely focused on failure. That’s because failure is fear-based, and success is wholly antithetical to fear.

The Second reason… excuse… is that “I can’t do it”. I don’t have the brains, the money, the training, the experience… Whatever it entails, “I can’t do it”. What this really means is that I DO NOT WANT to take the 110% effort required TO JUST DO IT. Success takes a plan, then the ACTION required on a CONSISTENT and DAILY basis to put that plan into motion.

The Third excuse is that “I looked into it and it won’t work”. In other words, I investigated what it will take to succeed and have decided that I DO NOT WANT to do it… because… because it’s not easy!

There’s really only one way to step beyond these excuses, leave your fears behind and live your life in true abundance, happiness and success.

I’ll share that secret here:

Please let me know what you think of this post. I appreciate it if Retweet and share on FaceBook and YouTube. And, I’d love to hear how you overcame your fears.

    David,
Excuses have never served anyone, not even a free lunch! All kidding aside, letting go of your worries about the outcome can empower you to have your success in ways you cannot imagine.

    Hi David,
You are so right when you stress the importance of action. Fear loses its perceived power with each small step towards the goal. And it feels so good – liberating. I’ve learned to hold a vision of myself overcoming the unfamiliar and engaged in whatever challenge I face – I see myself as strong, tall, empowered. And then I just do it, because I can.

Great insight about this huge emotional roadblock that must be overcome!

You hit it right on the head, Dena.

It’s not necessary to take great big strides. It’s the small steps in right direction that really get you there.

Sounds like you’ve come a long way down the success path. Keep up the great work!

    David,
Just stopped by to let you know I enjoyed the conversation last night on the call.
What a treat to watch this video. You are absolutely on target. Consistent action over time creates results! I believe though that there must also be moments of massive action.
    I appreciate you!

I’m so glad you made the point about massive action, Christy. Consistent action is your mainstay, but absolutely… when the time is right for massive, over the top action, you’ve got to seize that moment. But when it’s over, you can’t stop everything. You have to return to your consitency.

      Thanks for adding that.

Taking the pressure off doing it all right now is essential if you’re looking for long-term success instead of a few good days.

    Hi
A belief is a feeling of certainty about the meaning of something. It is a personal statement to be true.

Beliefs, which in many cases are subconscious, affect our perception of ourselves, of others and things and situations around us.
I prefer to believe that if I can achieve a successful online business, I believe in myself and in my abilities to take any project and carry it out.
    Regards
    Magali

    Hi David,
Your messages are always so encouraging.
Once i heard, One hundred excuses don’t pay a bil and I always remember that. We must conquer our fears and go, go, go.
If we belief we can do it. That is true, but if we belief the opposite it is also true…
    Cheers
    Raisa
    PD. The video is beautiful!

Yea, excuses never work, Raisa. We can’t even fool ourselves with them… not for long, anyway.

Nice to see you out here. Glad you like the video.

    Hola David!

How important are our beliefs!!! I believe in me, I believe that I can achieve whatever I want but… it’s important to take action too, don’t you think?

David, great post my friend. I like what you said about people’s fear of not being comfortable. I had never really thought of it that way? There is still nothing like getting out of your comfort zone and succeeding! What a great feeling that is!! Douglas

    • Posted by David Merrill on August 06, 2010 at 7:47 pm

It’s the ONLY way to do it, Doug. The ONLY way! Comfort is like waiting peacefully for Death. And that’s not our calling in Life.

    Hi David,

the great Spanish poet Antonio Machado, wrote “travelers, there is no path; paths are made by walking”.

When I heard people´s pre-conceive opinions about something they haven´t tried, I always think in this phrase, that was very popular when I was a child, due to another great Spanish poet and singer, Joan Manuel Serrat.

Truth is that most of the time the illusion of safety is very dangerous, which should totally warn us about its election.

Most of the time, all of what surround us and seems to be secure and permanent can disappear in seconds, while taking the extra step to the “unknown” can easily open the doors to new possibilities. But I guess that, essentially, this requires a personal growing process that nobody can learn from other´s experiences.

However, if we accept our personal responsibility on the quality of our lives, we should admit that this is the consequence of our previous chosen… So, we should be careful with what we choose.

    Beautiful fall!

    Saludos

Thanks Omar. You’ve given us some great things to think about.

I especially like the quote about creating your path by walking it.

And you’re right, you can’t learn from the experiences of others, so in the end… start walking! It’s the only way you’ll find the path you need to be on.

“There is Nothing to Fear, except Fear itself!” So said Franklin Delano Roosevelt… words that inspired a nation over 80 years ago. True then… truer now.

I say “truer now” because it seems that we’ve forgotten somehow that the way to overcome fear is, as you said David, take massive action.

If we just but try to work right through it, over it, under it… but persist with a determination that you can’t be stopped… the “universe” finds a way to support you.

Like our friend, Omar, pointed out – “we have to take responsibility”…. so it really is up to us. Whatever we focus on will become our results.

Great post, David…. it gets people to go beyond just thinking… to taking a step forward to success.

    Hey David,

Fear and excuses, coupled with the fact that people make up their minds whether or not something will be successful before you even put it into action…you nailed it!

These are the main reasons that people don’t make it online.

I loved watching your movie (beautiful scenery, where is that?). Your words ring true, consistency of action is key, and a solid belief in yourself that you are going to be successful.
To live an extra-ordinary life which I am sure we all want, requires us to acknowledge the fear, thank it for being there and get on with it.

      Thanks for the visit, Deirdre.

    Hello David

You have made it really clear as to why people don’t move from the comfort to the unknown. Your solution of taking daily steps reminds me of this quote “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Being focused is so important in our success journey.

Let’s not forget, too, that “the journey” you refer to begins, proceeds and ends with one step at a time. That’s the ONLY way to get to the destination you’ve created for yourself.

    Hi David,

This is my first visit to your blog and I find it to be very impressive. I’m looking forward to returning again and again. These are the three main excuses you posted for true success in internet marketing. You listed 3 reasons for failure:
1)“It might wind up in failure.”
    2)“I can’t do it”.
3)“I looked into it and it won’t work”. In order to succeed we must get past this elementary thinking. That kind of thinking is called, “stinking thinking.”

These thoughts cannot be a part of one’s journey. These thoughts will definitely sabotage any efforts to become successful.

In summary, consistent action over time creates results. Leave your fears and excuses behind.

Your video pointed to several key characteristics the right kind of thinking in order to reach success:
1)You have to overcome the fear of not being comfortable.
2)Take daily steps towards your goals and aspirations.
3)The steps must be daily, consistent, and deliberate.
4)Flow closer and closer to your dreams.
    5)Take action.
6)Go from your source and flow around and through obstacles.
7)You may have to modify but move forward.
8)Stay consistent to the best of your abilities.
9)You will join those people who reached their destination.
    10)Where is your power?
    11)What is your source?
12)Move forward every day into the stream at a regular steady pace.
13)One day you will look back and think I can’t believe how far this has taken me!
    14)Success!

Thank you for this excellent post and video! I love the waterfall!
