Make A Fan Page | Your New FB Profile

Fan Page

If you’re looking to create or build an existing online business, make a “Fan Page” on facebook. It’s easy to do, and you can create multiple pages to coordinate with different aspects of your business. People often think it’s a long and expensive undertaking to develop an online business or to actually start earning commissions on the internet. It doesn’t have to be complicated, difficult or time-consuming when you make a “fan page” to get the ball rolling,

Fan Page Basics

First you need a personal facebook account. Once you have that, simply go to your account and create a Fan Page.

Facebook Makes Creating A Fan Page Easy

Facebook now gives you various categories of fan pages to hook into. The video shows you where to find a category for any fan page you have in mind, and to set up your fan page within that category. It’s great to take advantage of the facebook tools, because they are well defined and targeted for your fan page.

Do You Need A Fan Page Before You Have Fans?

The term “fan page” is actually a misnomer for most fan page applications. The majority of these pages are actually business pages, social cause pages, company pages, artist pages, non-profit organization pages and the like.

The original concept of the fan page was that the page owner would be some sort of celebrity that everyone would want to follow. It was a great way for facebook to attract a lot of people to their site.

Today, though, many different people want a “fan page” for many different reasons. You will generally hear a business, artist or non-profit page (along with all the others) referred to as a “fan page”.

Can I Sell Stuff on My Fan Page?

Short Answer: Yes. Facebook allows you to engage in commercial activity on fan pages, but not on your personal page. That said, the best commercial use of your fan page is NOT to simply “sell stuff”.

It is to engage with others in your niche, and leverage the immense popularity and credibility of facebook to establish your own “brand” among those who would care the most (others engaging in conversation within your same niche).

I love to read your questions and comments, and encourage you to share this post within your social media streams. I’d also love to hear if you’ve been running a fan page on facebook, or what you think about creating your first fan page.

Great advice David! I recently put up a new fan page with a reveal tab – it was so much easier to do that I expected. Now that I know how to do it I’m looking forward to getting really creative and having some fun. Thanks!

That’s such a good point, Marty.

Things are so hard when we don’t try them, but only wish we “knew how”.

It’s amazing (and rewarding) when we just jump in and see that, wow, you don’t have to be a genius. You’ve just got to … do it!

I was always wondered if I do not have fans why for God sake I need a fan page! But finally an answer:):) But I am a bit afraid of disappointment to do such a page and the only fan to be me, myself and I..:)

I knew a long time ago I needed a fan page, but I was not sure if I should have put it as Blondish.net (I do have a page for it now, but more as a placeholder…lol) or for myself. So, I have my personal profile and then my fan page.

I almost did merge both, but I figured that all my old high school buddies would not be so appreciative…and the fact that when I was considering it, Kim actually did it and regretted it.

I do like the concept of the fan pages… some of my favorite brands utilize their fan page well so it is very welcoming.

      Good point, Nile.

Combining your personal page with your fan page seems like a good idea at first. It’s so simple to just get “friends” you already have to jump over to your new page.

The problem is that for most of us, there are very few “friends” and “family” that are interested in our branded page. Conversely, there are very few “fans” interested in our personal lives.

    David,
Your seriously one of my favorite people. You have a great way of presenting information I need now, simple.

I have serveral fan pages and the are priceless. However, with the new feature to share pictures and they look great across the top, is amazing.

I have different designs and you gave me instand light bulb moments in that video. My mind just started to image different pages all connect to one. It was your voice and smooth attitude.

I am going to make it my mission to master building fan pages to help more people such as what your doing. Too many of my new team members get stuck. I am going to start to send them to you. Instead of me creating it for them. Let them learn and then teach another.

David, your a remarkable coache and I love what you do. I look forward in more visits to your site. This is a great learning platform for all.

Thanks for the kind words, William.

I try to keep things as simple as possible. I know you can complicate them up, and that’s fine.

But you’ve got to have the basic idea down cold, before you can build on it.

Glad to hear it’s working for you!
